About the event
We invite you to join us on October 7th for our final 2025 Roots and Wings program, Adulting 101!
In partnership with The 1999 Collective, we’re offering a unique opportunity for teens to develop essential life skills through engaging workshops. Throughout the program, we’ll explore a variety of exciting experiences—from cooking alongside a professional chef and having meaningful conversations with a therapist about healthy relationships, to hands-on car maintenance, resume building, and a fun scavenger hunt to master navigating public transportation. Each week we will focus on a different topic to prepare teens ages 15-18 for adulthood.
Each workshop will be led by professionals and supported by multiple Common Thread mentors. The location for this program will primarily be at the Common Thread office building, with some workshops being held at the PROG Center and The 1999 Collective space.
